Disney Cruise Line changes placeholder date policy

When booking a cruise while onboard Disney Cruise Line, guests will no longer have to select a sail date to take advantage of any onboard booking offers. The perks to booking your next cruise while still on the ship include a reduced deposit amount, a 10% fare discount and a shipboard credit from Disney Cruise Line. Before this policy change, cruisers would have to either know which cruise they wanted to take or book what is often referred to as a “dummy date” as a way to secure the offers, then change dates once they decided on an actual date.

The deposit for these cruises will be $200 per stateroom. The policy of needing to sail within 24 months of the original booking has not changed.

Leah grew up in a little farming town in Illinois, right on the Mississippi River. Her Chicago-born husband, David, left the city for her, and they're now raising their three children (Jacob, Jonah and Lydia) just 12 miles from her hometown. As the Senior Editor of the DIS (wdwinfo.com), Leah spends a lot of time writing about, reading about, and discussing Disney. So, it should come as no surprise that one of her family's favorite ways to spend time is going to Walt Disney World and traveling on Disney Cruise Line. She also enjoys shopping, watching movies with her husband and doing crafts with and for her kids.
