I have a strong love for Disney Parks around the world and the varied approaches they take to bring the magic of Disney to life. It’s so wonderful to see the development coming full circle with additions like Zootopia in Disneyland Shanghai and Frozen in Disneyland Hong Kong. Now, there is a new opening to look forward to as the Fantasy Springs addition to the Tokyo Disney Resort. The new space will bring stories like Tangled, Peter Pan, and Frozen into featured spaces that include all-new attractions, shops, and dining locations.
Let’s take a look at where this project started when it was confirmed more than two years ago:
This land has come a long way from concept modeling to opening in mid-next year! Let’s take a closer look at what you can expect when the expansion opens in June 2024:
Fantasy Springs Attractions:
- Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure
- Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival
- Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey
- Fairy Tinker Bell’s Busy Buggies
Frozen Kingdom
Frozen fans won’t need to go to Disneyland Hong Kong to visit Arendelle. Fantasy Springs will include Frozen Kingdom, which will bring guests into the heart of the famed movie location set in the mountains of Norway. This will be home to Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey attraction as well as a host of other things to enjoy, like the Arendelle Royal Banquet restaurant and Oken’s OK Food Quick Service.
Peter Pan’s Never Land
I might be most excited to see Peter Pan’s Never Land. Despite being one of the most popular all-time movies from Disney, this will be the first proper representation of Never Land in a Disney Park. Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure will be set within this fantastical area where pirates and Lost Boys can come together to enjoy. This is also where we will find Fairy Tinker Bell’s Busy Buggies and the Lookout Cookout counter service dining location.
Rapunzel’s Forest
Tangled is one of my favorite newer Disney films. It has great music, diverse characters, and all the humor that I love to see in a Disney movie. Rapunzel’s Forest will embody all of this and more, along with a Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival boat ride attraction. Treat yourself at the Snuggly Duckling for a dining experience themed to the tavern in the movie.
Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel
Rounding out the series of surprises, the Disney Sea Fantasy Springs Hotel is made up of two areas: the Grand Chateau with Luxury Accommodation and the Fantasy Chateau with Deluxe Accommodation. Three dining locations will face the parks to bring all of the immersive atmosphere from the new land into your resort experience.
The new Fantasy Springs is set to open on June 6th, 2024, and my 2025 visit can’t come fast enough. Will you be making a trip to Japan to experience the new land at the Tokyo Disney Resort?
