A brand-new French Quarter Lounge will debut on the Disney Wonder’s four-night sailing from Vancouver to San Diego on Sept. 30, 2019. This space “will feature live music and themed activities for everyone in the family.” The French Quarter Lounge promises to be “a perfect complement” to the popular Tiana’s Place Restaurant already located on the ship.
This immersive new lounge will capture the essences of an outdoor space in New Orleans. Disney says the décor and architecture in the French Quarter Lounge will feature authentic touches like “wrought-iron balconies, classic brick walls and shutter-framed windows,” along with “a life-size trolley car and nods to the film (The Princess and the Frog) in the form of signs and facades on the walls.”
The lounge will be multi-purpose. In the mornings and early afternoon, the lounge will be used for hosting trivia, and as a character encounter location. At night the French Quarter Lounge will transform into a jazz bar serving specialty cocktails. The new location will serve adult beverages to guests 21 and over “at an updated whimsical bar.”
Vibe, the club for teens ages 14-17, will be reimagined into a “contemporary place to hang out with friends while at sea.” A new coffee bar will be added to this location along with “updated virtual reality technology” games and activities. This space has undergone a change in aesthetic, Vibe will now feel more contemporary with an industrial metalwork design.
Cove Café has also been redesigned to look like a local coffee shop. The popular coffee bar will now feature “warm, comfortable and trendy décor.” Additionally, Signals Bar is “also undergoing a transformation with a similar look.”
