Adding the Dining Plan to Your Walt Disney World Trip

In my previous article, we talked about some of the planning you will need to do for your 2025 Walt Disney World vacation.

Today, I would like to talk about your options with the different dining plans. You will need to have a Walt Disney World (WDW) package with theme park tickets or Disney Vacation Club (DVC) points. Basically, you are purchasing “meal credits” ahead of time. Many people prefer to purchase a plan, so they know their cost for meals before they arrive at WDW.

There are two different dining plans; the first is the Quick Service Dining Plan (think of it as your fast-food option). The cost (at the time of this post) per person is $59.14 for adults and $24.71 for children ages 3-9. Each person in your traveling party will receive two quick-service meals for each night of your stay, one snack or nonalcoholic beverage for every night of your stay, and a resort refillable mug.

The Disney Dining Plan (or a sit-down dining experience) is your other option. It costs $97.79 for adults and $30.56 for children ages 3-9. Again, this is the current pricing, but there are rumors of a price increase for 2025. You would receive one quick-service meal and one table-service meal for every night of your stay, one snack or a nonalcoholic beverage for each night of your stay, and a resort refillable mug.

You would need to purchase a dining plan for all nights of your resort stay for all guests in your party. If you think that is too much food or too much hassle with scheduling dining reservations, etc., many people will do a “split stay” where they have a dining plan for only part of their stay.  No matter which dining plan you choose, the gratuities are not included.

You should look at the menus of the participating restaurants. Your travel agent can also make suggestions, so be sure to ask if you have any questions. Only you can decide if the dining plan is worth it for your family.

You are now one step closer to booking your Walt Disney World vacation. Our final article will discuss theme park ticket choices.

Till then, see you in the parks!
