For years, it seemed like having childcare options at the Walt Disney World Resort was an important option for folks on vacation. There are so many fantastic adult experiences to be had and giving the kids their own night of fun was a way to make them feel special as well.
Many travelers were surprised when three of the Children’s Activity Centers were closed last year, leaving only Camp Dolphin located at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts and Kid’s Nite Out which offers in-room babysitting services. But, Disney did offer another option for guests in the Pixar Play Zone.
When Pixar Play Zone first opened up at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, it was located near the check-in desk for California Grill where the convention center ballrooms are. Soon after it opened, it was moved to the fourth floor just across from the Fantasia gift shop underneath the monorail.
After nearly a year of operation, there is speculation going on that Pixar Play Zone might be closing or cutting back to operating seasonally. As of the time of this posting, there are no operating hours posted after March 30, 2019.
The offering that was suggested to this DISboards poster is located over at Disney’s Beach Club Resort and does not last as long as previous options. The cost is just $55, lower than Pixar Play Zone’s $65, but would make for a much shorter evening, especially if you were dining somewhere other than the Epcot Resorts area.
