Disneyland Resort to Begin Testing WiFi in the Parks

The Disneyland Resort will soon begin testing WiFi hot spots throughout the theme parks. WiFi is available for guests in the resort’s hotels, but with Disney MaxPass expected to begin soon, many guests anticipated that WiFi would be coming to the parks as well.

WiFi testing will begin April 24th, but guests will not be informed or see any signs that testing is taking place.  However, if guests check their mobile device during that period and the new network is available, guests should be able to connect after accepting Disney’s terms and conditions.  Testing periods will be subject to change and guests may have trouble connecting.

Disney MaxPass is a new service that will offer both FASTPASS and PhotoPass capabilities on a guest’s smartphone for a small fee.  There as been no announcement as to when Maxpass will begin, but new FASTPASS machines opened recently at Toy Story Midway Mania and Matterhorn Bobsleds will begin FASTPASS service when it reopens April 28th, so MaxPass shouldn’t be too far behind.
