The Perch at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa opened late 2025 after a nearly year-long refurbishment of the hotel’s main lobby. In addition to new carpet, textiles, and furniture, the Grand Floridian lobby is now also home to The Perch. This lobby bar is themed to resemble a bird cage that would have been popular in opulent Victorian homes in the early 1900s. The Perch adds warmth and amenities to a lobby that is frequently a gathering place and home to events like the Easter egg display and holiday gingerbread house.

The Perch adds warmth in a non-distracting way to the very *grand* lobby. The birdcage-like structure is dark wood with stained glass and ornate lighting with gold butterflies. While there is somewhat limited seating at the bar, nearby lobby seats are also waited on or you can grab a beverage to go.

The Menu

The menu is limited to one mocktail, two cocktails, three beers on draft, and nine wines available by the glass. The Perch is not a full bar and there is no option to order off-menu. On our recent visit, we decided to try both of the signature cocktails which we were pleased to see incorporate ingredients from Florida.

Coffee Rum Sazerac – Siesta Key Coffee Rum, Demerara, Absinthe Rinse, Peychaud’s Bitters, and lemon essence – $17.50
The Coffee Rum Sazerac reminded us more of a take on an old-fashioned and was an interesting mix of coffee, bitters, and lemon. While it was somewhat unique ingredients, it was well-balanced and somehow not that memorable. This is likely due to the rum getting sort of lost in the other flavors.

Floridian 75 – Fords Gin, Florida citrus cordial, lemon, and topped with Tattinger “La Francaise” Brut Champagne – $22
We love a themed drink but if you’ve had a French 75, you’ve had this cocktail! It’s light, bright and made with a champagne worth drinking by itself. The Floridian 75 is decent portion size for the top-shelf ingredients and is nice to sip on while you enjoy Disney songs on the lobby piano.

While neither of the signature cocktails were especially memorable, they were still solid and ultimately, The Perch is a nice addition to the Grand Floridian. It creates an atmosphere that feels inviting and promotes enjoying the stunning updates to the lobby. We do wish the menu was a little more extensive but appreciate both the look of The Perch and the additional offerings it brings. Overall, the updates to the Grand Floridian are well-themed, elegant, and bring life to a resort with luxury and a lot to offer.
