According to the Orlando Sentinel, Orange County deputies arrested Gregory Lazarchick, 56, after he reported to two cast member greeters at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa that he was “sent by Al-Qaida to blow the place up,” according to the affidavit of his arrest.
Lazarchick was reportedly visiting from New Jersey.
The greeters stated that while asking guests about their days, Lazarchick said he was “having a bad day” and that Al-Qaida “sent me to blow the place up,” according to the affidavit.
Lazarchick was reportedly “remorseful and apologetic” in admitting to saying something about al-Qaida, but he didn’t remember what specifically he said. The Sentinel also reports that deputies searched his room and didn’t find any bomb-making materials.
Lazarchick’s sister informed the deputies that her brother “suffered a head injury a few years ago and sometimes says inappropriate things.”
The man was arrested on July 21, 2018, and charged with the false reporting of a bombing and has since posted bond.
