Walt Disney World Shares Some Best Bites for July 2019

Each month the Disney Parks share some of the their Best Bites, discussing what’s new, interesting, or just plain fun. This month the focus is on Walt Disney World with some Lion King-themed treats and some major awards.

After you catch The Lion King in theaters today, head over to Refreshment Outpost in Epcot for some special treats that will be available through the fall.

Try the Nigerian Meat Pie or the No Worries Panna Cotta with layers of raspberry, papaya, and mango panna cotta, plus for adults, the Savannah Smoothie, made with coconut milk, agave, and cream liqueur.

Also at Epcot, LeCellier Steakhouse is once again serving its Summer Prix Fixe Menu through August 28th.

Appetizer options include the signature Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup or a Baby Iceberg Wedge Salad, with marinated toy box tomatoes, edamame, applewood-smoked bacon, fourme d’ambert blue cheese, and crispy onions, all topped with a buttermilk ranch dressing.

For the main course, choose from the LeCellier Steak Sandwich on toasted ciabatta bread, the Le Cellier Surf and Turf Sandwich Combo with a lobster roll sandwich, or the plant-based Steamed Asian Style Dumplings, featuring plant-based meat dumplings, bok choy, Chinese long beans, red peppers, radishes, and Asian broth.

Either a Maple Creme Brulee or Duke Caboom’s Favorite Canadian Nanaimo are available for dessert. Duke’s dessert starts with a chocolate coconut brown, plus vanilla pastry cream, chocolate glacage, maple meringue, and black raspberry-chocolate gelato.

The special menu is $55 per person (plus tax and gratuity) or two Table Service Credits  on the Disney Dining Plan.

Stopping at Disney Springs, D-Luxe Burger has a new Vegan Burger, with a plant-based patty, topped with cabbage and mushroom ragout, mango salsa, lettuce, tomato, and pickle, served an a vegan Parker House roll.

Moving to the BoardWalk Bakery at Disney’s BoardWalk, where they’re serving a Seaside Sammich made to be eaten on-the-go. The fresh hoagie roll is stuffed with lobster, shrimp, tomatoes, and bacon, and is served with fries or chips.

Nearby at the Flying Fish, Chef Tim Majoras has earned the 2019 Critic’s Pick-Best Chef Award from Orlando Magazine.

Of Majoros, critic Joseph Hayes says, “there are chefs who cook to a superb standard every day, and sometimes one who rises above it with a vision of what is possible.”

Finally, Walt Disney World restaurants took six spots in the top ten when USA Today named their 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards for Best Amusement Park Restaurants.
