Disney Parks are adding another must-have collectible for Star Wars fans, and this one leans fully into the galaxy’s “well-loved” aesthetic.
The Salvaged Protocol Droid Bucket is set to debut at Disneyland Resort on April 28, followed by Walt Disney World on May 4, better known as Star Wars Day. As expected, demand will likely be high, with a purchase limit of two per person, per transaction, while supplies last.
Based on the preview Disney posted, this isn’t your typical shiny, polished droid. The bucket features a worn, pieced-together look, as if it were pulled straight from a scrapyard on Batuu. The design resembles a protocol droid, with glowing yellow eyes that give it just the right amount of personality to make it look alive. We think this new popcorn bucket fits right in with the immersive storytelling inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
The bucket opens up to hold popcorn, but if we’re being honest, this one is all about the display factor. Between the weathered metal finish and the expressive face, it’s going to stand out whether you’re carrying it through the parks or just setting it on a shelf to display at home.
Disney has leaned heavily into creative popcorn buckets over the past few years, and Star Wars designs remain among the most popular. This latest addition feels like it will follow that same path, especially with its timed release around May the 4th celebrations.
If you’re planning to pick one up, it’s worth arriving early. Limited-edition buckets tied to Star Wars events tend to disappear quickly, and this one checks all the boxes collectors look for.
