The Palm Breeze Bar is located directly below the new Villas at the Disneyland Hotel and offers poolside food and drinks with a mid-century modern feel. In fact, this open-air eatery was inspired by Palm Springs in the 1950’s and 60’s. This is the only restaurant located at the Villas while the Disneyland Hotel also offers Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar, Goofy’s Kitchen, and more.
On a recent visit to the Disneyland Resort, Ryno was joined by his good friend CJ for a Disney dining review on their first visit to the Palm Breeze Bar.
When “bar” is in the title, you’ve got to try the drinks, right? CJ went with the Strawberry Thyme Fizz made with Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Cynar, strawberry-thyme syrup, lemon juice, and prosecco for $19. It was very refreshing plus how can you go wrong with strawberry and vodka?
Per the recommendation from the cast member – Ryno selected the Seasonal Gin and Tonic for $18. This G&T is made with Sipsmith Gin, St. Germain Elderflower, black pepper rosemary syrup, charred lemon- juice, and elderflower tonic. Even though the charred lemon made it somewhat bitter at first, Ryno was pleasantly surprised by this G&T! It was unique while still being well-balanced.
From the “shareables” section of the menu, CJ And Ryno also tried the Cheese Fry Poutine topped with demi-glace, cheese sauce, chive sour cream, and pimento for $19. This was also recommended by multiple people and it did not disappoint. The steak fries balanced out the queso, making it an elevated comfort food. Even with the best intentions, all of the cheese fries were devoured.
For entrees, CJ and Ryno split the Spicy Crisp Chicken Sandwich topped with zesty slaw, spicy aioli, bread & butter pickles and served with French fries for $23. This was Ryno’s favorite of the two entrees. Ryno loved the heat from the spicy aioli – Disneyland definitely knows how to do spice better than Walt Disney World. The slaw also added a great flavor. CJ would also get the chicken sandwich again and thought the fries even without the poutine toppings were great.
They also shared the Charcuterie Pizza topped with artisan cured prosciutto, pepperoni, sausage, and sun-dried tomato for $24. Despite it being described as a personal pizza, the portion size was huge! The toppings were fantastic but the sauce missed the mark. CJ agreed the sauce overpowered both the cheese and the toppings and is something they would both skip next time.
The Palm Breeze Bar is a great addition to the Disneyland Hotel and offers a variety of poolside options. This is a great restaurant to visit if you are staying at the Disneyland Villas or maybe the wait is too long at Trader Sam’s. Be sure to watch Ryno’s full dining review of the Palm Breeze Bar here!
