The Disneyland Resort has been updating the menus for several of the restaurants located inside the resort hotels recently, and now they’ve made a huge announcement about changes coming to character dining!
Beginning this summer, Mickey Mouse will make his way over to Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa for the new Mickey’s Tale of Adventure. You’ll be able to “discover the fun with your adventurous storyteller, Mickey, as he welcomes you into his immersive tales of adventure through his magical Adventurer’s Journal.”
Over at the PCH Grill at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, Donald, Daisy and Stitch will take center-stage for Donald Duck’s Seaside Breakfast. The trio will “catch some waves” and invite guests out on the dance floor.
The changes mean the end of Surf’s Up! Breakfast with Mickey & Friends and the Chip ‘n Dale Critter Breakfast. No opening dates for the new experiences have been announced yet, but reservations should begin soon.
We’ve already talked about the big menu changes at Trader Sam’s and Tangaroa Terrace at the Disneyland Hotel, but there have been some exciting changes to other menus around the resort hotel as well.
Back at the Storytellers Cafe, the artisan pizzas [$23-25] that are served at White Water Snacks have made their way onto the menu. Other new appetizers, include the Avocado Toast [$15.00] and a Kale Salad [$13.00]. The toast features crushed avocado, lemon-olive oil, parsley, celery leaves, quail eggs, and Espellete pepper on top of a slice of grilled sourdough bread. The salad features almonds, currants, Grana Padano, bacon-bread crumbs, and a garlic vinaigrette.
Updates to the dinner menu include two new entrees. The Chicken Paillard [$22.00], features a lightly-breaded chicken breast and is served with roasted potatoes and heirloom carrots, all topped with a lemon-caper sauce. The new Braised Boneless Short Rib [$38.00] includes mashed potatoes, creamy horseradish, and Brussels sprouts.
For lunch, Storytellers has added a Short Rib Grilled Cheese [$18.00], which is made with cheddar cheese and caramelized onions on sourdough bread.
Dessert at Storytellers now includes a Vanilla Creme Brulee [$10.00]with an orange-vanilla biscotti and marinated raspberries or Butterscotch Bread Pudding [$10.00] with vanilla creme anglaise and caramel sauce.
The Surfside Lounge in the lobby of the Paradise Pier Hotel has added a new Build-Your-Own Poke Bowl [$16.00]. All of the bowls come served with avocado, cucumber, red onions, and green onions, then you choose your own base, protein, and sauce. Start with white rice, brown rice, or romaine leaves, then add tuna, salmon, or tofu, all marinated in ponzu sauce. The dish can be topped with spicy mayo, poke sauce, or wasabi. Your creation is then garnished with seaweed wakame, tobiko caviar, fried onions, pickled ginger, bonito flakes, and sesame seeds.
As always, menus are subject to change, but head over to The DIS for the latest full menu updates!
