Disney Cruise Line Shares More Details About Its 2019 Stop in Belfast

For the first time next summer, Disney Cruise Line is visiting Belfast, Northern Ireland. That’s just one of seven new ports that the Disney Magic will be visiting in 2019!

The Magic will stop in Belfast during a special 7-night British Isles Cruise departing from Dover, England.

Guests visiting Belfast will be able to explore the Giant’s Causeway. This 60-million-year-old geological formation that was formed by volcanic activity is the stuff of ancient myths and legends. Another natural wonder on display near Belfast is the headland of basalt columns, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.


Belfast also has one of the most scenic coastlines, which guests will want to explore. Look for the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge or the ruins of the medieval Dunluce Castle.

Near the gardens and woodlands of Cave Hill, guests will find the historic Belfast Castle, which is one Belfast’s most famous landmarks.

There are also several small towns near Belfast for guests to explore, including Historic Downpatrick, where St. Patrick built his first church and began the conversion of Ireland.

The Ulster Folk and Transport Museum will have guests experiencing what farm life would have been like centuries ago, including learning how to churn butter and shear sheep. Guests will also enjoy interactive opportunities that simulate travel on steam locomotives, horse-drawn carriages and vintage cars.

The city of Belfast itself is a shoppers delight specializing in handmade linens. Stop in St. George’s Market for local treats or find a nearby pub for whiskey and entertainment. Guests can also head to the Cathedral Quarter, which if filled with fine restaurants and beer gardens, plus some of the oldest buildings in Belfast.

Younger guests may want to visit Pickie Funpark, which features miniature golf, a children’s train, an electric car track and more. The entire family might enjoy the Botanic Gardens, with  its collection of tropical plants and trees, plus a children’s playground, bowling green, and rose garden.
