SeaWorld Orlando announced several changes in their management on Friday, February 7. Park President since 2010, Terry Prather will transition to SeaWorld Entertainment’s senior vice president of operations, a newly created position.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, Prather will oversee “safety, environmental, ride operations and standardization across the company’s parks.” He will also work with the zoological operations division.
Prather will be replaced by Donald W. Mills, who will head up SeaWorld, Discovery Cove and Aquatica. He had previously been Chief Operations Officer for Busch Gardens and Sesame Place, both of which are owned by SeaWorld Entertainment.
Daniel B. Brown, previously COO of SeaWorld parks, will now take over as SeaWorld Entertainment’s Chief Parks Operations Officer, overseeing all the theme parks.
These aren’t the first management changes for the company in recent months. On January 15, SeaWorld CEO Jim Atchison stepped down from his post and is now vice chairman and has joined the board of the company’s independent nonprofit conservation fund. At this time, his replacement has not yet been announced.
