Disney’s Hollywood Studios has turned up the fun dial with Cool Kid Summer, a lineup of activities designed to make your Walt Disney World adventure even more unforgettable. Whether you’re visiting with kids or just young at heart, this summer celebration welcomes families to dive into interactive experiences with favorite Disney characters, kid-friendly arts and crafts, and plenty of photo-worthy spots throughout the park.
Animation Courtyard comes alive with energetic performances by magicians and jump rope performers, along with fun games and crafts for little ones. As with the character experiences at the other theme parks and resorts during Cool Kid Summer, the characters wander around freely as they wish, so lines don’t form and interactions can remain spontaneous. I love this style of entertainment and hope it remains after the summer.
Families can “Get Animated” with Mickey Mouse and more beloved Disney Junior friends, such as Vamperina, Doc McStuffins, and more, at an indoor DJ dance party, or conquer an imaginary obstacle course in interactive fun with characters!
Taking breaks between all of the fun and excitement is super important, too. Quick service snack stops are sprinkled all around Hollywood Studios with a lineup of summer-inspired snacks and cool beverages. Healthy snacks from Once Upon a Farm, like Mango Ba-nila Coconut Melts, are available for purchase at the outdoor snack cart in Animation Courtyard. Grabbing a cool treat is the perfect way to chill out between attractions and to keep energy levels high. Kids aren’t the only ones who get cranky when they’re hot – am I right?
If you’re looking to keep the little ones entertained while you grab a moment of calm, head to the Kids’ Activity Zone. Here, there’s open-play space with Disney Jr. shows, arts-and-crafts stations, and interactive entertainment hosted by favorite Disney pals. It’s basically a splash of summer camp charm right inside the park, letting kids unleash their imaginations in a safe and playful setting while you take a load off and chill for a bit.
In addition to the extra fun to be had throughout the summer, two brand-new indoor shows are being presented at Hollywood Studios! First is Disney Villains Unfairly Ever After. This new story showcases some of Disney’s most infamous Villains in a whole new way. One of my favorite things about it is that the ending has the potential to be different each time, with the audience participating in a vote.
The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure tells the familiar love story of Ariel and Prince Eric in a fully reimagined way with stunning new set pieces, cutting-edge effects, and a bold new design. The newly refreshed theater is beautiful, too!
