The Electric Mayhem Concert We Wish Could Happen More Often

During the media preview for the opening of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, invited guests had the rare opportunity to see The Electric Mayhem live in concert. Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem performed their original song “Can You Picture That” plus their cover of “Born To Be Wild” and “Song 2” which are both featured on the new attraction. The set included fireworks and special guests like Kermit the Frog, Bean Bunny, Pepe the King Prawn, Rizzo the Rat, and Scooter. Oh, and did we mention John Stamos was there too??

Seeing The Muppets live, in-person is always incredible but this concert also marked one of just a few times The Electric Mayhem has performed a live concert.

Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem performed a “one-night only” set but seeing them only made us want more. It would be great to see the band reunite for special events at Disney’s Hollywood Studios like Jollywood Nights or a Muppets-themed After Hours.

John Stamos is just one of many celebrities/ Electric Mayhem fans that make an appearance in the new Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster queue. John Stamos is a long-time friend of The Muppets, making an appearance in The Muppets Haunted Mansion on Disney+. As requested by Animal, John played bongos with The Electric Mayhem and even brought the band churros at the end of their performance.

There would be no Muppets without Kermit the Frog and of course he graciously stopped by at the end of the concert, thanking Walt Disney World and Walt Disney Imagineering for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.

Special appearances between The Electric Mayhem’s songs included Bean Bunny and Pepe the King Prawn. It was bittersweet to see Bean Bunny outside of Muppet*Vision 3D. This appearance and other Easter eggs inside the ride help the former Muppet Courtyard live on.

It was such a treat to see Rizzo the Rat, who has had a reduced role in The Muppets since his puppeteer, Steve Whitmire, was dismissed by the Muppets Studio in 2016. Rizzo was there hoping to perform with his Electric Mayhem cover band, The Electric Rat-hem.

While we wish The Electric Mayhem had more concerts scheduled, hopefully it’s a sign of more Muppet interactions to come at Walt Disney World. Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster Starring The Muppets officially opens at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 26th. In the meantime, check out our full photo tour from inside the attraction plus the pre-show and POV video!
