After close to 20 years in operation, Disney's Pleasure Island is undergoing a major overhaul, including the closure of the Adventurer's Club, Comedy Warehouse, 8 Traxx, Motion, Mannequins and BET Sound Stage.
While details are scant, the redesigned Pleasure Island will be a mix of new dining and shopping venues.
Pleasure Island Annual Passholders can request a pro-rated refund.
The Pleasure Island nightclub entry option on both Premium Annual Passes and Water Park Fun & More passes will no longer be offered after September 28. Starting on June 28, a round of golf on the nine-hole Oak Trail Golf Course will become a ticket enhancement for both of these passes.

You must be 21 years of age or older to enter the BET Soundstage Club, 8 TRAX, Mannequins Dance Palace, Motion and Rock and Roll Beach Club. Both the Adventurer's Club and Comedy Club are open to all guests (under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.)
Anyone who thinks that the Walt Disney World Resort is not for adults has never been to Downtown Disney Pleasure Island.
Music is in the air, videos rock the screens and there's an incredible choice of clubs. You can dance, rock, laugh and shop the night away.
Alcohol is served in all of the clubs and there are kiosks located throughout PI where drinks can be purchased.
- Disco Divas, slip on your platform shoes and prepare for a groovy trip back to the '70s at Pleasure Island. The club sparkles with rotating mirror balls and the glow of lava lamps. Dance to tunes by Donna Summer, the Village People, KC and the Sunshine Band, the Bee Gees and more as you "Turn The Beat Around." Every Thursday, the club at Disney fast forwards a decade and plays the best of the 80s.
The Adventurers Club is pure fun. Themed as a 1937 Explorer Club, you'll find a zany bunch of characters residing here.
There's the intellectual Professor Otis Throckmorton Wren, the daring darling Samantha Sterling, the debonair Hathaway Browne, Emil Bleehall the scount from Sandusky, Ohio, the Club President Pamelia Perkins, Fletcher Hodges who is rather indescribable and Colonel Critchlow Sutchbench who is a permanent fixture of this establishment.
Of course, such an exclusive club at Pleasure Island needs to be properly staffed. Sunny Knight the maid and Graves the butler do an excellent job of overseeing the festivities.
There are four different rooms to visit:
Main Salon: Be prepared to be inducted into the Adventurer's Club by taking the club oath, singing the club song and learning the very important club salute.
Mask Room: There's more to the masks than meets the eye.
Treasure Room: Beezle the Genie floats above. Be careful what you wish for in this artifact lined room.
Library: This is where the main shows take place. They vary throughout the evening and may include the talented Samantha Sterling's Cabaret, the Balderdash Competition and the Hoopla finale.
Overlooking the fun below is the Zebra Mezzanine. If you want to be a part of the interactive craziness, head downstairs to the Main Salon which connects to the other three rooms.
Kungaloosh is the club credo as well as the signature drink. By the end of the evening, you'll be a smiling and proud member of the Adventurer's Club. KUNGALOOSH!
- This club at Pleasure Island was inspired by the musical programming from the BET Cable Network, and offers hip-hop, R&B, Reggae and Old School tunes for your dancing enjoyment. You can watch yourself on the club's video walls or relax on the waterfront terrace.
TIP: Plan to arrive before 11:00pm to avoid a lengthy wait to enter.
- The "Who What and Warehouse" improv group entertains the crowd nightly at Pleasure Island. Keeping in Disney style, you can expect the humor here to be clean and appropriate for all ages.
The unscripted comedy show is based solely on interaction with the audience. If you're an improv fan, you'll enjoy it.
There are four performances on Sundays through Wednesday with five shows on Thursdays through Saturday.
- This is one of the most popular clubs at Pleasure Island.
Mannequins features today's most popular dance music, an impressive lighting and sound system as well as a circular dance floor that revolves in tempo with the tunes.
You enter from a three story elevator and quickly understand how the club got its name as you find yourself surrounded by mannequins.
- DJ's playing the latest top 40 tunes provide the energy at this vibrant dance club.
Motions has a large video screen which shines its way onto the dance floor. If you want to take a break, head to the second floor balcony where you can watch the action below.
-
You'll want to rock 'n' roll all night at Pleasure Island with the live band and crazy DJs in this tropical-themed dance club.
Both classic oldies as well as contemporary songs are played while images of beach parties are brought to life.
There are three levels of entertainment to enjoy.
If you can, avoid weekends as locals flock to this fun location. It does become very crowded.
Occasionally, a headliner act will be performing and the crowds will follow. If you plan on attending that evening, be sure to arrive early.
Try to plan this as a "night out" for adults. While underage children are permitted with an adult in some of the venues, Pleasure Island is geared for adults. Disney features great kids clubs and babysitting options for younger children.
In planning your night out at Downtown Disney Pleasure Island, don't forget to include dinner. Raglan Road is a great addition to Pleasure Island and there are some great dining choices nearby at Downtown Disney Marketplace and Downtown Disney West Side.
True to Disney form, you can also expect a fairly wide variety of shops, most of them related to the various clubs.
Guests staying at one of Disney's onsite resorts should take advantage of the complimentary bus transportation when returning to their resort that evening.
