Beginning today and running through October 31, 2024, is one of the best times to visit the Disneyland Resort! It’s officially Halloween Time, complete with spirited seasonal décor, enchanting entertainment, and delicious food items materializing across the resort. Additionally, Plaza de la Familia kicks off today and runs through November 2, 2024.
During Halloween Time, Jack Skellington wrecks the halls of the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland with merry and macabre décor inspired by Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, transforming the attraction into Haunted Mansion Holiday. In this crash between Halloween and Christmas, Jack dresses up as ‘Santa Jack’ and brings eerie Halloween Town delights. If you’ve never seen this incredible transformation, it’s a real treat and cannot be missed! Don’t forget, you can use virtual queue for it this year!
One of Jack’s holiday traditions is leaving a giant gingerbread house for the ghosts who dance around the Haunted Mansion’s Grand Hall. This year, Halloween Town’s resident mad scientist, Dr. Finkelstein, is ready to scare up some new ideas for the Gingerbread House. Not only is it a tasty decoration, but it’s also the perfect platform to practice some experiments!
Dr. Finkelstein has taken on the tall task of creating the largest gingerbread zombie and bringing it to life. This exceptionally sweet experiment takes place on an operating table adorned with an assortment of licorice rope jumper cables, sugary gumdrop bolts, hard-coated chocolate candy rivets and peppermint lightning bolt coils, on display for all Haunted Mansion Holiday guests to witness – and that’s exactly why this year’s gingerbread house is glowing and crackling with barely- contained electricity!
Our article from earlier this week includes images of the making of this incredible work of art.
Mickey Mouse and his pals at Disneyland will be sporting new threads for the season, so be sure to snap new photos with them! Also, the daytime debut of Mickey’s Trick and Treat show at Disney California Adventure Park is not to be missed, and for the first time, it’s being presented daily!
Don’t forget about the new autumn-themed dining and other experiences at the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort. First, there’s Mickey’s Autumn Adventures character dining for breakfast and brunch at Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. In the lobby, The Evil Queen from Snow White makes her debut in disguise as a wickedly sweet confectionary masterpiece, made of over 200 pounds of dark and white chocolate.
At Goofy’s Kitchen in the Disneyland Hotel between August 23rd and October 31st, guests can enjoy Halloween-themed décor and meet their favorite characters dressed in their Halloween outfits.
The Main Street Pumpkin Festival brings a wonderful assortment of pumpkins to Main Street, U.S.A., at Disneyland Park, including the giant Mickey Mouse Pumpkin at the center.
If you’d like to experience the spookiness in a whole different way this year, you’ll be happy to know that Disney’s Happiest Haunts Guided Tour is returning for a limited time, offering a strolling experience through Disneyland Park with spooky stops along the way, a special Haunted Mansion photo opportunity featuring hitchhiking ghosts, plus reserved viewing for Halloween Screams, the nighttime spectacular.
Over in Cars Land, Radiator Springs turns into Radiator Screams as everyday objects like traffic cones, tires, and tools are transformed with haunting Halloween touches. Favorite characters like Lightning McQueen and Mater will wear their Haul-O-Ween attire in celebration. Three attractions take on seasonal transformations for a Halloween twist with Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween and Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree in Cars Land and Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark in nearby Avengers Campus.
The Downtown Disney District is bursting with Halloween décor, special entertainment, and themed offerings from select locations. This year’s “gourd-geous” installations feature oversized pumpkins in colorful hues for perfect fall photo backdrops. Beginning August 30th, guests can hunt for hidden Disney character-themed pumpkins with Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit by purchasing an activity map for their search to claim a collectible keepsake. For the first time, guests may also peruse for pumpkins at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, with each park offering its own separate activity maps for purchase.
