Every stop at Castaway Cay features a 5K race, but on January 15, 2020, the once a year Disney Castaway Cay Challenge will be returning to the private island. The Disney Castaway Cay Challenge is exclusive to runners who “participated in at least one of the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend races.” This 4-night sailing departs on the Disney Dream the Monday after Marathon Weekend, so for the dedicated marathon runners, this is a dream getaway.
Disney Castaway Cay Challenge participants “can also enjoy a course chat to prepare for the race, a runDisney trivia competition, exclusive merchandise available onboard and a beer and champagne tent on Castaway Cay to celebrate after the race.” Those who finish the race will receive a medal that is designed specifically for the Castaway Cay Challenge.
