EPCOT’s Egg-stravaganza is happening now through April 9th! This was my first time trying an EPCOT scavenger hunt, and I have to say it was surprisingly egg-cellent! It was a beautiful day at EPCOT and it seemed like almost every family was also participating in the egg hunt and/ or Spike’s Pollen-Nation Exploration Scavenger Hunt also going on right now.
The price to join in is $9.99 and the best part is you can use discounts like Annual Pass AND you get to choose from a very cute prize at the end! The scavenger hunt card can be purchased at Gateway Gifts located to the right of the entrance to World Showcase. We grabbed our card and headed towards Canada… sorry for all those who only start in Mexico!
Probably the most fun part of the scavenger hunt is figuring out which bunny-themed egg will be in each country. Also, Disney got really creative with some of these characters—definitely deep cuts for big Disney fans! This article does show where each of the eggs is located—spoiler alert before you read further!
First up, we spotted the Jackalope from the Pixar short, Boundin’. Jackalope is located in Canada near the entrance to Le Cellier and the topiary display for the Flower and Garden Festival. This was one of the few eggs you couldn’t get really close to – sorry for the blurry picture! This egg also tricked me into thinking each one would be located near the Flower and Garden display in each country… I was wrong.
Over in the United Kingdom, we spotted March Hare from Alice in Wonderland. This egg is hiding pretty well amongst the tall flowers in the back of the pavilion near the performance stage.
Once in France, we looked through the entirety of the pavilion, not knowing if the egg would be near Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure or towards the Le Chefs de France. We found Skippy towards the entrance to Remy’s but before heading under the sign on the right. I’m embarrassed to say I had to Google what movie Skippy is from – Robin Hood!
My favorite of the eggs, Oswald Lucky Rabbit is hiding out in Morocco! This is where things really got tricky – we walked past this egg multiple times not realizing the eggs could also be up high on top of the buildings. The more you know!
Ducky and Bunny from Toy Story 4 were much easier to spot! You can find this colorful egg in the Japan pavilion right along the water and to the right of the torii gate. Love that Bunny’s plush tag is included on the egg!
I was pretty certain that Bean Bunny from The Muppets would be in The American Adventure and I’m happy he was! You can find Bean Bunny at the Kidcot Fun Spot and to the right of The Art of Disney. Sam Eagle would be proud!
Over halfway through World Showcase, Rabbit from Winnie the Pooh is located in Italy up high near the angel statue on the right side of the pavilion. This isn’t too far into the pavilion and was easily spotted!
Just like Italy and Morocco, we had to look up high for Germany’s egg. We spotted Alec Azam from the Pixar short, Presto, above the Der Teddybar gift shop. Alec Azam is another shout out to Pixar’s early short films!
When in Germany, you must stop at Karamell-Kuche! Right now, there are two spring-themed caramel apples. I would argue these are the best at Walt Disney World!
In China, Thumper from Bambi can be found near the Nine Dragons Restaurant. This was one of the easier eggs to spot!
In contrast, we had a comically difficult time finding Miss Bunny also from Bambi. She can be found in Norway on the backside of Kringla Bakeri og Kafe, just below the turf roof and at the base of a tree. This would have been a great time to stop in for the famous school bread!
The White Rabbit egg from Alice in Wonderland is an easy one to spot and is near La Hacienda de San Angel on the water in Mexico. Even if you haven’t participated in the Egg-stravaganza, you’ve probably noticed this egg while strolling the World Showcase!
Last but certainly not least, Judy Hopps from Zootopia can be found in the Odyssey pavilion up high in the large seating area. The Odyssey pavilion is also a great place to take a break and enjoy Flower and Garden merchandise and drinks from the Citrus Blossom kiosk.
And just like that, we completed the egg hunt! You can pick up your prize from the checkout counter at either the Creations Shop, Disney Traders, or World Traveler gift shops. We decided to pick up from Creations and had six character charms to choose from! Disney is calling them charms, but I will likely use mine as a Christmas tree ornament.
I let my two-year old pick our prize and Mickey was the clear winner! This will likely be a new tradition for our family! It was a great way to actually visit and enjoy each of the countries in World Showcase and it created an unexpected comradery from other families on the same hunt.
We’ll now have to try Spike’s Pollen-Nation Exploration next time we’re at EPCOT! Have you completed any of the EPCOT scavenger hunts and which one is your favorite?
