Disney prepares for "One More Disney Day"
by Leah ZanollaFeb 28, 2012
Plans are in motion at the Disney parks for tomorrow's "One More Disney Day" celebration. The Magic Kingdom in Florida and Disneyland Park in California will be open for 24 hours straight to celebrate Leap Day. At the Magic Kingdom, there will be extra showings of the Main Street Electrical Parade, "The Magic, The Memories and You!" castle projection show, and The Frontierland Hoedown. From 1:00 am - 5:30 am, guests will be able to attend the "Dance the Night Away Party" at Cinderella Castle. It wouldn't be Disney without characters, and there will be plenty in attendance all night. Phineas and Ferb will come over to Tomorrowland from Disney's Hollywood Studios, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will greet guests in Fantasyland and Mickey and Minnie will be in their pajamas in Town Square.
At Disneyland, the first 2,000 guests to enter the park will receive commemorative ear hats to celebrate the special day. Disneyland will be adding extra entertainment overnight as well; there will be a dance party with DJs overnight, an extra showing of Mickey's Soundsational Parade, and Billy Hill & the Hillbillies will be performing from 11:15 pm - 4:45 am. Guests will also have some different character meet and greet opportunities - Mickey and his friends will be in Carnation Plaza Gardens wearing pajamas, Darth Vader and Stormtroopers will be in Tomorrowland, and the Country Bears will be in Frontierland. An exciting addition to the schedule is a special showing of "Fantasmic!" at 1:00 am on the Rivers of America.
There may be other additions to the entertainment schedules at both parks; guests in attendance will need to check the Times Guides as they enter the park.
