Roundup Rodeo BBQ opening in 2023 as the first Table Service Restaurant in Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The restaurant serves all-you-care-to-enjoy, family-style barbecue platters and is themed as if Toy Story’s Andy has created a restaurant out of board games, books, and cardboard boxes. To many people’s disappointment, this is not a character meal but rather you are the “toys”. The whole restaurant freezes when you hear “Andy is coming” or the Green Army Men call a false alarm for a yard sale.
While Roundup Rodeo reservations tend to book-up, you can often find walk-up availability. With the upcoming release of Toy Story 5, it was time for a revisit to see if the dining experience was as good as we remembered!

Pricing
$49 per adult plus tax and gratuity
$28 per child (ages 3 – 9) plus tax and gratuity
The meal is all-you-care-to-enjoy meaning you can order more of any item. Your meal includes a bread service, salads, a barbecue platter, sides, a selection of desserts, plus a non-alcoholic beverage like soda, tea, or lemonade.

The menu also includes an impressive list of themed cocktails, beer, and wine. The themed cocktails really are unique and come served in a Mason jar. You can also take a drink to go if you would like to enjoy in line for Slink Dog Dash.

Drinks
Snake Eye Margarita – Teremana Blanco Tequila, watermelon juice, lime juice, agave, and smoked chili bitters – $16.50
This is a perfect watermelon margarita with the right balance of spice. The watermelon is flavor is light and fresh, making it a crowd-pleaser on a sunny Disney day.

Grown-Up’s PB&J – frozen Screwball Peanut Butter Whiskey, Minute Maid vanilla smoothie, and grape jelly – $18.50
The Grown’Up’s PB&J is a dessert in itself. You definitely taste the whiskey and mixing in the jelly at the bottom is a nice pairing. Even though this is very different from the PB&J milkshake across the park at 50’s Prime Time, this still falls in the dessert category of drinks. Combining this with such a heavy meal is a dangerous game… that might be worth it!

Bread Service
The Prospector’s Homemade Cheddar Biscuits with Sweet Pepper Jelly
The biscuits are huge and fluffy on the inside. The sweet spice of the pepper jelly is a great addition – you should definitely try this combination. While the biscuits are decent, there’s so many better items, it’s important to save room.

Salads
Weezy’s Fruit Salad – diced watermelon garnished with mint
Just your basic cut-up watermelon but great for kids and a nice addition with the barbecue.

Rootin’ Tootin’ Tomato Salad – tomato wedges and sliced grape tomatoes, cucumbers, pickled red onion, and balsamic vinaigrette
The tomato salad might be basic but it’s a great way to start your meal. Also nice to have a cold, crunch salad before diving into barbecue and hearty sides.

Entree – House-Smoked Items
Evil Dr. Smoked Ribs
The smoked ribs are great and we all agreed better than other Disney World ribs at places like Flame Tree Barbecue and Hoop Dee Doo. They fall off the bone and have just enough of a smoky crust (or “bark” for you barbecue aficionados).
Buttercup’s Beef Brisket
Solid brisket that’s been well smoked. Not the best you’ve ever had but good for a theme park!
There’s a Sausage in My Boot – smoked pork sausage
The sausage comes in a small spiral and you’ll definitely want to order more.
BBQ Chicken-with Style!
The BBQ chicken is tender but does not have much of a smoked or barbecue flavor.
Cowpoke Corn on the Cob – grilled street corn
The street corn is fantastic! Nice grill flavor and plenty of cheese.
Buckin’ Baked Beans
These baked beans are just okay – don’t expect them to come close to your grandma’s recipe.

Entree – Trixie’s Plant-Based Trio
Feel free to try the plant-based trio – it’s vegan and you can still share other items on the table if you’re not totally following a vegan diet
Combat Cauliflower – harissa drizzle, topped with walnut gremolata
Very crunchy and not enough harissa drizzle or flavor – this was our least favorite of the vegan options!
Scrumptious “Bratwurst”
The meatless bratwurst still had a nice snap and smoky flavor – a great vegetarian option.
Rip Roarin’ “Rib Cage” – featuring barbecue-seasoned and glazed Impossible “beef”
It’s weird this vegan option is called a “rib cage” and really looks nothing like barbecue ribs. Surprisingly this was our favorite of the vegan options! The flavor was incredible and the barbecue sauce had a nice heat to it. You’re definitely going to want to order more of these!

Available Upon Request
Cedar Plank Saloon Salmon
I’m going to go ahead and tell you – request the salmon when you order! It can take a little bit longer but it was one of the best salmon dishes at Disney World. The fact that it actually comes out on a cedar plank is impressive and the glaze gives it just the right flavor.

Sides
The Claw! Veggie Slaw
The veggie slaw is just average – definitely needs salt and pepper to five it some flavor.
Buckin’ Baked Beans
You can also get the beans with jackfruit instead of pork, making it a vegan side.

Potato Barrels
I don’t know how Toy Story Land does it but the potato barrels always hit – they’re extra crispy, salty, and absolutely addicting. It may seem like a basic side but I would be sad if the potato barrels ever left the menu.

Slinky Doooooooooog Mac & Cheese
The mac & cheese has had a few iterations at Roundup Rodeo. The Cavatappi noodles are a nice homage to Slinky Dog but overall the mac & cheese is more similar to something out of a box. Not terrible but your kids are more likely to enjoy this side.

Desserts
Your server will likely bring one of each of the desserts so you can sample/ share them all. The dessert portions are small and you’re all going to want to ask for a Forky cupcake.
Cupcake a la Forky – gooey chocolate cake, graham cracker buttercream, and topped with a Forky sugar cookie
The Cupcake a la Forky is surprisingly delicious – the cake is moist and the buttercream is fresh. Plus, how could you not get the cutest dessert??

Seasonal Cheesecake – lemon blueberry
This was the favorite of the desserts! While not a traditional cheesecake texture, the creamy filling with the tart lemon and blueberry plus graham cracker base was just perfect.

Gruff’s Strawberry Shortcake
No offense to Gruff but this is nowhere near as good as the strawberry shortcake at Hoop Dee Doo. The positive is the strawberries are still fresh and sweet and is on the lighter side of the desserts.

Goat’s Banana Cream Pie
I wish the banana cream pie was just banana pudding! The filling needed a little more texture and had a slight artificial banana flavor.

Billy’s Chocolate Silk Pie
The chocolate silk pie is more similar to a chocolate pudding and is definitely the most basic of the desserts.

Overall Thoughts
Personally, I don’t think Roundup Rodeo BBQ gets enough love. The theming is everything you love about Toy Story Land but even more immersive – it feels like you’re dining inside Toy Story Mania. Even though there aren’t characters, this helps keep the price point lower and the interactions are still fun. I mean how funny is it the whole restaurant willingly freezes multiple times just in case Andy is coming?? This restaurant is also a good value at Disney and is more peaceful than lining up for a buffet. Anytime I’ve waited in the longline outside Woody’s Lunchbox, I’ve wished I was at Roundup Rodeo.
