Disney Springs at Walt Disney World is encouraging guests (ages 21 and over) to explore their brand-new Bourbon Trail. Guests can stop by the Disney Springs Welcome Center beginning May 1st for a Trail Passport, then try several different bourbon-inspired beverages and food pairings at locations throughout Disney Springs.
Start out at the House of Blues with a Fine and Mellow, a cocktail made with Knob Creek Bourbon, St. Elder, lemon juice, strawberry, and rhubarb bitters. Also try the Hurry Sundown Old Fashioned, with Maker’s Mark Bourbon, Benedictine, butter pecan syrup, bitters, and caramel pecan bacon. Pair those with a Smoked Brisket or Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich. For dessert, get the Homemade Bread Pudding, served with toffee sauce and bourbon butter.
Moving down to Splitsville, grab The Trifecta, featuring Old Forester 100, Carpano Antica Vermouth, Benedictine, and Pimento Dram. The cocktail goes well with the BBQ Chicken Pizza, which is topped with barbecue sauce, marinated grilled chicken, smoked gouda, mozzarella, cilantro, and red onion.
At Bongos Cuban Cafe, it’s gotta be a mojito, so try Angel’s Envy Bourbon Mojito, made with Angel’s Blue Envy Bourbon, simple syrup, soda water, and fresh mint leaves. Match that with the Authentic Cuban Style Churrasco Certified Angus Beef skirt steak served with house-made chimichurri sauce, white rice, and beans.
YeSake has a refreshing Strawberry Bourbon Sour Slushie made with bourbon, sweet strawberry puree, and lemonade. Try that with with a Citrus Fresh bowl or wrap, with salmon green leaf lettuce, cucumber, onion, spinach, and jalapeno tempura crunch wasabi ponzu sauce.
Heading over to the Planet Hollywood Observatory, a Bulleit Frontier Old Fashioned is on the menu, featuring Bulleit Bourbon, sugar and bitters. It goes well with the BBQ Ribs, slow cooked in-house and smothered with barbecue sauce.
At STK ask for the Double Down, made with Woodford Reserve and lemon juice. Also get the Double Smoked Bacon, served with date chutney, oven-dried tomatoes, and crispy garlic. For dessert, try the Bag O’Donuts, made with a dulce de leche filling, plus spicy chocolate and raspberry sauces.
New kid on the block, Enzo’s Hideaway has the Enzo’s Bourbon Swizzle, with Bulleit Bourbon, lemon juice, ginger syrup, bitters, and fresh mint springs. Pair that with the Salumi and Formaggi Board.
Next door at The Edison, the DB Clothesline Candied Bacon goes well with the Peach Tree Downs, a peach mint julep made with Knob Creek Bourbon and Old Camp Peach Pecan Whiskey.
Paradiso 37 serves the Kentucky Sunrise, made with Jim Beam Bourbon, orange juice, and grenadine. Try it with the Argentinian Skirt steak, topped with caramelized onions and chimichurri.
At Raglan Road, sample The Gold Cup, featuring Bulleit Bourbon, Jameson Black Barrel Irish Whiskey, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and muddled mint, lime, and cucumber. Also try the Dub Schpuds, which are herb roasted potato wedges served with a Smithwick’s & Dubliner Cheese Dip.
Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar has a Coffee Old Fashioned with Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Kahlua Coffee Liqueur, Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee, Vanilla Syrup, and Aromatic Bitters, served with a coffee ganache square. Pair that with the Snakebite Sliders, made with tomato-bacon jam, house-made pickles, shredded lettuce and cheese.
Sail down to The Boathouse for an Orlando Pride, made with Old Forester Bourbon and a homemade blackberry citrus puree. The refreshing cocktail goes well with the Calamari, which is marinated in hoisin chili, then fried and served with peppers and a side of hoisin chili sauce.
At Paddlefish, try the Southern Sangria, with Medley Bros. Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, peach liqueur, Tempranillo, and seasonal fruit. Also get the Pork Chop, served with house-made applesauce and fresh green beans.
The Polite Pig has the Winner’s Circle, made with Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Pamplemousee grapefruit liqueur, and elderflower tonic. It works well with the Southern Pig Sandwich, featuring pulled pork, fennel-apple slaw, tangy mustard barbecue and Dukes Mayonnaise.
At Frontera Cocina, pair the Carne Asada with a Bourbon Nectar, featuring Basil Hayden’s Bourbon, organic agave, Elemakule Tiki Bitters, and orange peel.
Grab the pimento cheese and fried green tomato topped Southern Burger at D-Luxe Burger, then wash it down with the Smoked Bourbon Gelato Shake, made with vanilla gelato, Knob Creek Single Barrel Bourbon, hickory smoke, and dark chocolate, all topped with bacon.
Finally at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ there are a couple of options. The Old Fashioned Elder includes Michter’s Bourbon and St. Germain Elderflower. A Basil Hayden’s Mint Julep is made with Basil Hayden’s Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky, simple syrup, and sprigs of mint. Enjoy that with the Famous Thigh High Chicken Biscuits drizzled with hot honey and served with bread and butter pickles.
The items that are special to the Bourbon Trail will be available May 1st through June 17th.
